IYK500010 Genuine Land Rover Transfer Box Oil 1Ltr TF0870
The genuine Land Rover transfer box oil for the DD295 transfer case and IRD carries part number IYK500010 and meets the TF0870 specification. IYK500010 is the correct Discovery 3 transfer box oil for the L319 and applies equally to the Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport L320 and Range Rover L322. It is supplied in 1-litre bottles. The box holds approximately 2.3 litres, so confirm your quantity before you drain it.
Standard ATF and general gear oils don't meet the TF0870 viscosity or friction modifier requirements. Put the wrong fluid in, and the transfer box won't show any immediate signs of trouble. The damage builds quietly until it becomes a costly repair.
TF0870 is a fully synthetic formulation. IYK500010 and the TF0870 specification are not correct for Range Rover Classic or Defender transfer boxes. Those use a different fluid entirely.
