A 20 oz canvas hooding fitted as standard to many pre 1960 classic cars. For many years this material has been a popular upgrade to a vinyl hood particularly amongst Classic Car owners, however unless you have a specific requirement for old world authenticity then we strongly advise that you consider a Stayfast or Mohair hood. The colourfastness of Duck is not suited for sunnier climates where it would be subject to premature fading of colour.

Double Duck will require periodic treatment with a colour restorer to keep it in good condition.

If the body stud on the vehicle is plastic we recommend using the plastic female popper 713501ORIG instead.

We recommend this plastic female popper is used when the existing body stud on the vehicle is also plastic. If the plastic body stud needs replacing and since it is no longer available, we recommend replacing both the male & female poppers on the material with metal versions, along with a metal body stud.
If the male part on the vehicle is already metal, we recommend using the metal female popper 713501(for black) or 554517 (for silver).

The windscreen capping should be sealed to the top of the windscreen frame by applying silicone sealant (GHF6093) before attachment.
Omission of the sealant will invariably result in water seepage through to the passenger compartment.
Ensure before applying the sealant that all traces of previously used sealant have been removed from both windscreen frame and capping.

ORIGINAL SPECIFICATION PVC HOOD
Hood Characteristics
An Original Specification PVC hood that is re-manufactured (for the MkIV & 1500 only) using the original Coventry Hood & Seating hand production jigs & tooling. Indistinguishable from the original specification in weight, pattern and texture.
Colours Available: Black only.

STANDARD PVC HOOD
Hood Characteristics
A popular grade vinyl that offers good value.

SUPERIOR PVC HOOD

Our Superior Vynide (black only) & Everflex (colours) hoods are a very close match to the original specification.

Please note that all our hoods are manufactured to the very highest standards and tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. They are supplied with hood fastening sockets and detailed fitting instructions.

Our Tonneau Covers & Hood Stowage Covers compliment our range of replacement hoods.

Mk1 & Mk2 hood cover & frame type.
Fully detachable type hood with separate hood & frame. Hood frame is spring loaded to tension hood cover. Hood stows behind rear trim board, frame stows inside boot.
Leading edge (front) of hood located by a lip on windscreen capping and by 2 press studs. Rear of hood located by 2 chrome brackets (on rear deck) and by press studs.
Hood shaped for rounded door glass.
Non 'Zip-out' rear window.

Original factory Mk1 & Mk2 hoods had 2 small 'anti-theft' hooks that clipped to the top of the screen frame, preventing the hood from being unfastened when the doors were locked and the windows fully wound up, however, due to manufacturing restrictions, we are unable to supply hoods fitted with hooks.
