Water Pump Gasket - ERR3284 - Genuine

ERR3284 is the correct genuine water pump gasket for all 300TDi diesel engine applications across Defender 1983-2006, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic. The companion gasket to order alongside ERR3284 is PET100790, which seals the distance piece to the engine block in the same area. Both should be replaced whenever the water pump is removed, as reusing either risks a coolant leak at reassembly. Having both to hand before starting the job avoids a repeat strip-down if a leak develops once the engine is back together.

No. The gasket should be replaced every time the pump is removed, even if there was no visible leak beforehand. Gaskets compress and take a set against their mating faces under heat and load cycling.
