Triumph Herald Wipers & Wash System
The Triumph Herald's Lucas wiper system uses a twin-speed motor that drives both blades through a rack and cable mechanism. This design, shared with the Spitfire and Vitesse, proved reliable but requires periodic attention to keep pace with British weather. Worn cables cause uneven blade arcs, and tired motors struggle at higher speeds when you need them most.
Washer Systems
Early Heralds used manual pump washers, with later 12/50 and 13/60 models receiving electrical systems with dash-mounted switches. Replacement jets, tubing and pump units restore effective screen cleaning that makes wet-weather driving far safer.
