Notes on Ordering Seat Colours
The many colours originally specified by the factory for seats complemented those offered for trim panels, and are detailed in the Paints & Trim Colours section in this catalogue. Seats were trimmed in a choice of leather or synthetic vynide material. Leather was predominant on TR2s whereas by the time of the TR3As and TR4s vynide was very much to the fore.
As is the case with trim panels, a choice of five popular colour schemes are available for TR2, TR3 and TR3A models, three of which also have the option of contrasting piping to suit more appropriately the later cars. For TR4s there is a choice of four popular colours.
Please note that plain black and black with white piping seat cover kits are the only stocked items. Seat cover kits and rear seat assemblies in the other colour schemes listed below are available, but they are not held in stock under normal circumstances and are available to special order.
The break points between TR4 seat styles depended on Standard Triumph's remaining stocks of colours in the outgoing style. The chassis numbers quoted in this section should therefore only be taken as an approximate guide.
Trim kits include the following items constructed from vinyl and board in a similar manner to the original items:
One pair of door liners
One pair of rear quarter liners
One pair of rear wheel arch covers
One rear cockpit liner
Notes on Ordering Trim Colours
Originally there were a diverse range of trim colours for TR2 and TR3 models, some of which were to say the least unusual. You can discover the delights of such hues as Geranium and Targo Purple by referring to the "Paint & Trim Colours" section.
Requests for other more or less tasteful shades (depending on your retina and disposition) were obliged by the factory as special orders.
Common sense and commercial restrictions rule out the reproduction of all the original shades, but having said that there is a good choice of popular colour schemes available, which depending on the model involved would have had matching or contrasting (white) piping. These should satisfy all but the most discerning of originality devotees. Nowadays matching or contrasting piping may be chosen for all models.
Please note that plain black and black with white trim kits are the only stocked items. Trim kits in the other colour schemes listed below are available, but they are not held in stock under normal circumstances and are available to special order.
