Please note that replacement 2.7 TDV6 and 3.0 TDV6 crankshafts are only supplied with a limited warranty.
Land Rover have clearly stated that the 2.7L and the 3.0L diesel engines fitted to Discovery 3 and 4 vehicles and Range Rover Sport vehicles are not serviceable. If the engine fails Land Rover advise that the only course of action is to replace the entire engine and the auxiliary parts. Land Rover do not believe that these engines can be rebuilt satisfactorily by any company, authorised dealer, independent specialist or engine rebuild specialist. As such Land Rover publish no information concerning the technical specifications or tolerances of these engines. Land Rover do not supply any Genuine parts that can be used to rebuild these engines. The only parts available to the aftermarket for these engines are those manufactured by aftermarket companies.
Rimmer Bros have sourced their replacement parts for these engines from high quality part manufacturers who have had their parts independently bench tested where possible. They have been tested for quality and compatibility and it is extremely unlikely that parts supplied by other companies will work properly with those supplied by us.
Any company or person purchasing parts to rebuild a 2.7L or 3.0L diesel engine fitted to a Discovery 3 or 4 or a Range Rover Sport do so in the knowledge that they can rebuild the engine without technical information from Land Rover. Rimmer Bros will only replace the above parts under warranty if it can be demonstrated to our satisfaction that the 2.7 TDV6 and/or 3.0 TDV6 engine component has a manufacturing defect. A warranty will not be honoured if the vehicle has been fitted with auxiliary parts, such as pistons, con rods, gaskets and bearings not supplied by Rimmer Bros.
Rimmer Bros will under no circumstance consider any warranty claims beyond the replacement of the specific engine component with a like for like product. If this limited warranty is not acceptable then the part must be returned to us at the purchaser’s cost and a full refund for the part will be given.
