MGB Chrome Bumper Radiator Grille.

This is top quality British made item that is made on our UK Suppliers own tooling. Chrome on Brass construction with bright trim alloy slats. It is far superior to anything sourced from the Far East on the market today. All chrome grille originally fitted to MGB's GT's 1962 - 1969. Can also be fitted to the later 1970-1974 cars which had the plastic 'honeycomb' grille fitted or on later cars as part of a conversion from Rubber to Chrome Bumpers.

Did this item work well with your project? What vehicle type are you using this for?

Emily, my 1968 MGB roadster, had been banged up from 25 years of abuse and neglect. Every perishable or shiny bit needed repair or replacing. Emily was too expensive for anyone to bother restoring and too good to be scrapped. Nobody wanted her and so the scrapyard was going to be her final fate. That’s when I bought her last year for £500 and gave her a new, permanent home. (I am using a currency conversion calculator by the way, to make it easier to read.) Since then,I have spent countless hours working on her and £2,500 on new parts. I estimate that I have at least £3000 to go (including replacement wire spoke wheels and new orange paint). I try to buy the best parts available, but I also have a budget. I’ll never make my money back if I were to ever sell this car, but I doubt I’d ever sell her anyway. There are reproduction grilles out there for much cheaper, (also some that are far more expensive!) The cheapest ones produced here in America are £75 less than Rimmer Brothers but are made from polished Aluminum and “may require adjustments to fit”... No thank you! So I bought this one instead. I received my new grille and took it out of the protective box, cardboard sleeve, and plastic bag. Perfect! Solid! Quite heavy! I pulled out the old broken grill for comparison. It looks the same, only newer and better, weighs slightly more than the original (that has missing bits) and it shines brightly! And it fit perfectly! I took a few pictures and put the grille back in the box. Emily will be getting her new paint this spring and I can hardly wait until I can permanently install this on her! If you are looking to buy a grille, this is the one you want. If you are looking at a “restored car” to purchase, check the grille, among other things. If the brightwork looks shiny, but thin and flimsy, walk away. If they used the cheap stuff on the decorative parts, imagine what the did to the engine and body structure!
