The original starter spacer shim is not required and there is no need for the original heat shield to be re- fitted. If a tubular manifold is installed, heat shield RX1470 can be used and/or manifold insulation wrap RX1382.

Some cars (mostly with 9V coils) had an additional wire from the starter/solenoid to the coil to give a voltage boost to assist in starting in cold or adverse conditions. This is normally not required and can be disconnected. If, however, the starter motor cranks but fails to start then it may be necessary to connect the cold start wire with a large diode.

  • Diameter at spindle: 13.1mm
  • Diameter at cogs: 25.3mm
  • Diameter at base of cogs (inner casing): 47.6mm
  • Diameter at base of cogs (outer casing): 73.0mm
  • Mounting hole pitch: 118.6mm (Note one end open bolt mounting on solenoid side)
