Product Description

Triumph TR7 Door Trim Panels (1975 to 1978)
Note: Due to limited availability of original spec door panels, certain door panels (remanufactured) are now supplied in pairs only (using an RB number). Where original stock is still available (ie only one side), the original part number is still shown. Note that blue and tan are now also available in plain vinyl (without check pattern) as an alternative if so desired.
We strongly recommend door panels are fitted in pairs to ensure colour and trim-type match.

Lock knobs!!!

Did this item work well with your project? What vehicle type are you using this for?

Did you know British Leyland used a smaller diameter round lock knob than is commonly found on other cars? You can’t just go to your local auto parts store and buy an assortment of lock knobs and expect any of them to fit, unless you want to sand them down to fit the hole in the door card. You also can’t order lock knobs from most British parts suppliers in America. Most of these companies carry very few TR7 model specific parts as it is, and lock knobs don’t seem to be a priority. If you order from the few who do carry something, you will get ones that look like it was made by someone using a 3D printer for the first time or ones that look like it was left in the hot sun on the tea shelf for several days before they ship it to you. Worse still is the ones with sharp edges at the top that cut the back of your elbow when you rest your arm on the door edge! I got perfect fitting lock knobs from Rimmer Brothers!!! Why is that exciting? I have spent about $20 (USD) on bad lock knobs over the past year... that’s not a joke! This Is why I happily write a review for something as mundane as perfectly fitting lock knobs! There really is nothing special about these lock knobs. There is no “plughole of disappointment” stamped on the top, they are plain black, and they are plastic like the originals. But they work without jamming, they are smooth and don’t cut your arms and they look right! And they are super cheap!!! I never thought good lock knobs would excite me but there it is. Finally, one more piece fits my TR7 jigsaw puzzle!
