Our Reconditioned Exchange Gearbox units are supplied with kickdown cable, But LESS Bellhousing & Torque Convertor.
Note: Type 35 gearbox uses a Splined output drive.
When fitting a replacement automatic gearbox it is recommended that you replace the Torque Convertor, which
also prevents cross contamination of used/dirty oil.

IMPORTANT
EXCHANGE UNITS
All our gearboxes/overdrive units are supplied on a strict 'LIKE for LIKE' Exchange basis
(IE Type 35 gearbox for Type 35 gearbox).

Your old exchange unit(s) MUST be in an undamaged and serviceable (NOT dismantled) condition, and all fluids/oils must be drained BEFORE being returned to us for refund of exchange surcharge.
We reserve the right to retain all or part of the exchange surcharge if the above conditions are not met.

(1970 to 1976 - to LD41993)
Type 35 Borg-Warner gearbox.
How to identify
Output drive/propshaft is splined.

(1976 onwards - from LD41994)
Type 65 Borg-Warner gearbox.
How to identify
Output drive/propshaft is flanged

Automatic gearboxes really do require specialist knowledge to dismantle and rebuild, and are normally beyond the capabilities of the DIY enthusiast. We therefore, strongly recommend the fitting of a reconditioned exchange unit.

Nothing remarkable about the engine mounts but good to be able to buy Stag parts off the shelf .... and have them in Australia 8 days later during a pandemic. Stag restoration - my task in isolation ....
