EXCHANGE UNITS
All our gearboxes/overdrive units are supplied on a strict 'LIKE for LIKE' Exchange basis
(IE non-overdrive gearbox for non overdrive gearbox).
Your old exchange unit(s) MUST be in an undamaged and serviceable (NOT dismantled) condition, and all fluids/oils must be drained BEFORE being returned to us for refund of exchange surcharge.
We reserve the right to retain all or part of the exchange surcharge if the above conditions are not met.

Overdrive unit has a bolt on solenoid & a brass sump plug
(1973 onwards - from LD21231)
'J' type overdrive
How to identify
Overdrive unit has a finned sump held on with 6 set screws and a screw in solenoid
DIY Overdrive Rebuilds
Overdrive units really do require specialist knowledge to dismantle and rebuild, and are normally beyond the capabilities of the DIY enthusiast. We therefore, strongly recommend the fitting of a reconditioned overdrive unit.
