Up to an unidentified VIN number the interior door release cable had a hook shaped end (detail A) where it attached to the interior door handle. MG Rover later altered the design of the interior door handle and the cable changed to a T shaped end (detail B) To further confuse matters all replacement interior handles supplied since approx 2008 have been of the T shaped design so the only way to be sure of what is fitted to the car is to look at the cable itself.

Up to an unidentified VIN number the interior door handle was designed to take a hook shaped cable (part number was FVB100220MMM) but the hook end was prone to breaking off so MG Rover later altered the design of the interior door handle to take a T shaped cable. To further confuse matters all replacement interior handles supplied since approx 2008 have been of the T shaped design so if the handle being removed took the hook shaped cable a replacement cable will also be required.

For the RH front door the cable required is ZUA000460
For the RH rear door the cable required is ZUA000450
