The Triumph TR3, are often converted to rack-and-pinion steering because the rack is worn, and people think it will make the car steer more easily. This doesn’t help much.
The TR3 has options on the steering column, adjustable or Non-adjustable, one or a two piece steering column, Non-adjustable has a short spline for the steering wheel/hub to mount on to. Adjustable column has a long spline for the steering wheel/hub to mount on to.
EZ Power Steering developed a power steering kit for the Triumph TR3.
The conversion kit is designed to fit under the dashboard and be invisible, the column has all the mounts for the ignition lock and switches in the correct place.
The EZ Electric Power Steering system is truly speed sensitive, it will steer light at low speeds and not become lighter at high speed, supplied with full step by step instructions with photographs to make the fitting more easy to install.
The basic EZ-unit, is a 12 volt system with negative earth!.
There are extra wiring sets available so that the kit will work on a 6 volt or 24 volt system and/or positive earth.
