Product Description
Bodyshell - Roadster Chrome Bumper - RHD & LHD - AHH7482 - Genuine
These bespoke shells require a complete and undamaged gearbox tunnel from the customer - the only item for which tooling does not exist
ORIGINALITY
All bodyshells use:
Original press dies
- produce the majority of the components - over 3000 press tools weighing in excess of 2500 tonnes have been found, identified and recommissioned. Where press tools have been lost or irrevocably modified, British Motor Heritage Limited has invested heavily in new press tools to enable production of the many body variants.
Original assembly jigs
- crucial to the build of any assembly or bodyshell are the manufacturing assembly jigs. Again, these have been found and recommissioned. They ensure the dimensional integrity of the bodyshell.
Original facilities
- a purpose built and dedicated assembly area is used for the manufacture of all bodyshells. To ensure the quality of weld is to the required standard, welding equipment identical to that used by major motor manufacturers is used.
Original technical data and specifications
- for all parts and assemblies produced have been used to check detail, process and quality.
FITTING NOTES
On Receipt of Your Shell
Ensure that it is the correct specification to accept your donor cars running gear, trim and fixings. The process of manufacturing bodyshells evolved considerably during the period that these models were in production. Trial fitting of key components is strongly recommended. If you consider the bodyshell to be unsuitable for your requirements, or faulty in any way, contact the supplier immediately before any painting, fitting, modification or rectification costs are incurred. British Motor Heritage Ltd. cannot accept any liability for work undertaken or commissioned without its prior authorisation. Contact in the first instance must be via the Heritage Approved Specialist who supplied the bodyshell.
Pre-Work
Those intending to build their car for entry in car club vehicle appearance or condition displays and competitions will need to apply much additional work to bring their entire car to the exceptionally high standards now demanded for concours d'elegance. All threaded inserts will need paint cleaning prior to build. Any extra holes required for your accessories or minor body variations should be added prior to painting.
For those owners who wish to seam seal their bodyshell to the original factory specification prior to applying coats of primer there is a guide under the videos and documents tab.
Painting
For paint finishing advice, the assistance of a professional paint supplier or refinisher should be sought.
