Auto Front Seat Belt - L & R Hand

1. Drill hole in the 'L' shaped mounting bracket using the old retractor as a template. (Fig. 1)

2. Remove old Seat Belt from 'L' shaped mounting bracket.

3. Connect the new Securon Seat Belt to the 'L' shaped mounting bracket. (Figs. 2 & 3)

4. The pillar loop and tongue can be turned on the webbing to suit Left or Right hand installation - see instructions with the Seat Belt.

FITTING SEAT BELTS - HELPFUL HINTS

OFFSET INSTALLATIONS TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH INSTRUCTIONS

CITROEN BX Front seat belt: Additional fitting bracket (Ref.F1) required.
FORD FIESTA
 Front seat belt: Mount retractor vertically. Use 2 plain spacers to clear Ford mounting pins.

ESCORT (Mk III or IV)
ORION 		Front seat belt: Additional fitting bracket (Ref. D1) required
Use flat bracket supplied on L/H side to move retractor forward (see diagram 1).
FIAT 127 Front seat belt: Mount retractor vertically using partly straightened L bracket supplied.
MG MGB ROADSTER/GT/MIDGET Front seat belt: Mount retractor using Z bracket supplied.
MORRIS MINOR SALOON Mount retractor on parcel shelf
MINOR TRAVELLER Mount retractor Far enough forward on the wheel arch to provide sufficient webbing length for passenger usage.
NISSAN BLUEBIRD (86 on) Front Seat Belt: Mount retractor using flat bracket and Z bracket supplied.
SUNNY EST (82-86) Additional fitting bracket (Ref. D1) required.
PRAIRIE Use lower inboard anchorage points on seat base positioned behind circles marked on trim.
PEUGEOT 205 Remove washer bottle for access on R/H side. Bend lip of aperture to allow anchorage point on reel and car to be aligned.
405 Use Z bracket supplied and 3 plain spacers.
504 (Estate/Family Estate) Mount retractor externally of aperture.
505 (Estate/Family Estate) Mount retractor externally of aperture.
RENAULT 11 Mount retractor externally of aperture on R/H side.
Cut plastic side support shelf.
ROVER GROUP MONTEGO SALOON Additional fitting bracket (Ref. D1) required.
213/216 (to 86) Mount retractor above parcel shelf.
213/216 (86 on) Mount retractor above parcel shelf.
SKODA ESTELLE Ensure bolts do not foul petrol tank.
VAUXHALL ASTRA HATCHBACK (to 84) Mount retractor externally of aperture
ASTRA HATCHBACK (84 on) BELMONT Pass retractor through aperture close to rear light cluster and move forward to anchorage point.
ASTRA ESTATE Mount retractor externally of aperture.
VOLVO 3 SERIES (3 door) Front Seat Belt: Mount retractor externally of pillar using partly straightened L bracket supplied.
GENERAL NOTES
NB: Before proceeding ensure there is sufficient clearance for bolts, nuts etc.
  1. Most lower anchorages points for rear belts are under the seat. These will normally be covered by removable plugs / bungs.
  2. It may be necessary to remove trim to reveal upper anchorage points.
  3. Some vehicles require a slot to be cut in the parcel shelf to thread webbing through. The position is usually marked on the underside of the shelf.
  4. Some estate cars require the car manufacturer's vertical bars across the rearside windows for correct installation.
  5. Front Seats may have to be removed to gain access for mounting a 15cm buckle assembly.
  6. When anchorage points are created reinforcing plates should be used. These points will afford some level of safety.
