Did this item work well with your project? What vehicle type are you using this for?
In my case the original retaining nut had fractured. The hole in the alternator for the clamping bolt needs to be a clearance hole because the bolt is screwed into this retaining nut not into the alternator hole which in my case was threaded and had to drilled out so that the bolt was able to pass through. Because the hole was threaded the alternator was never clamped properly which was the reason the original part fractured and continual adjustment was required. Now the alternator is correctly clamped. It is very good that Rimmer Bros were able to supply this vital part. Thank you very much!!!
