What a great idea to have a nylon insert instead of metal threading. Keeps the knob from unwinding as you drive.

I tried to swap this in for a leather gear level knob and it wouldn't seat correctly. Worked perfectly after removing the nut that held the old knob at a particular height. The missing star is because I would prefer a tapped metal fitting for install. I should have read the description.
