Triumph GT6 Suspension

The Triumph GT6 suspension story changes significantly across the three marks, and getting the rear system right is what ordering is all about. Mk1 used a swing-axle setup; Mk2 and early Mk3 (to chassis KE/KF20000) ran a Rotoflex independent rear with reversed lower wishbones and rubber coupling joints at the outer driveshaft ends. Late Mk3 (from KE/KF20001, 1973) reverted to a swing-spring layout with a larger front anti-roll bar fitted to compensate.

If your car runs Rotoflex, those rubber couplings are a known wear item. Check them for cracks regularly. They're on the drive shaft page rather than here, so order both together if you're doing a proper rear refresh.

Up front, the double wishbone and coil spring setup is consistent across all marks, but the trunnions and vertical links wear if they're not lubricated periodically with EP90 gear oil. Don't skip that. Neglected trunnions can cause the front suspension to collapse, so if you're sourcing front parts, check the brake system and steering at the same time for a complete front-end refresh.

Rimmer Bros has specialised in Triumph GT6 suspension parts from its Lincoln, UK base since 1982, despatching to 195 destinations worldwide. The right parts for your mark are above.
