Product Description
Triumph TR3 from TS13046, TR3A-250 Rear Drum Brakes - Girling
The History: TR3 from TS13046 and TR3A to TS 56376 (approx) was fitted with Girling 10" x 2 1/4" brakes at the rear. From TR3A TS56377 (approx) Girling 9" x 1 3/4" brakes were fitted. The latter remained constant through TR3B, TR4 , TR4A, TR250, TR5, TR6. Wheel cylinder piston diameters changed from 3/4" to 5/8" to 0.7". Always ensure cylinder piston diameters match left to right to ensure balanced braking. The diameter of wheel cylinders is changed to vary the force applied to the brake shoes compared to the effort on the front brakes (brake balance). The other variable in this is the shoe friction material performance.
