The Mini, with VINs commencing XN010001 from 1990 onwards, continued to be an emblem of British motoring heritage into the new decade. This period witnessed the classic Mini navigating through a changing automotive landscape as it sought to preserve its unique identity amid emerging trends and consumer preferences. The Rover Group, under which the Mini was manufactured at this time, endeavoured to update these iconic cars while maintaining their quintessential characteristics: compact dimensions, distinctive styling and nimble handling that had been endearing them to enthusiasts since the ‘60s.
During these years, several special editions of the Mini were released including celebrated names like the Mini Cooper, Mini Thirty (commemorating 30 years since the original launch), and various other iterations featuring luxury embellishments or sporty tweaks designed to entice a diverse audience.
Despite encountering rigorous safety regulations and competition from contemporary superminis arriving from Europe and Japan, post-1990 Minis sustained their appeal. They retained their characteristic A-Series engines, albeit upgraded for improved efficiency, and incorporated enhancements like side impact beams and front disc brakes. These modifications boosted performance and fortified safety credentials. These models showcased both continuity and evolution, adapting while retaining the essential 'Mini' identity.

As the British motor industry contracted, Rimmer Bros expanded to ensure the continued maintenance, restoration and enjoyment of many beloved classic cars no longer supported by their original makers. Our support, starting strongly with Triumph, extended to include Rover SD1 models in the 1990s, and later expanded to cover Land Rover and Range Rover models, reaching up to the present day. In 2005, our commitment grew to encompass more modern MG-Rover cars and by 2012 we further extended our range to include Jaguar models from 1996 onwards. This growth reflects our dedication to serving the diverse community of classic and modern British car enthusiasts.
