This conversion kit is designed for a seamless switch from Stromberg to HS6 SU Carburettors, and ensures a perfect fit.

Why might I want to change my Stromberg to HS6 SU Carburettors?
  • Maintenance: Some people prefer HS6 SU carburettors because they are simpler and easier to tune and maintain than Stromberg carburettors. Stromberg carburettors have more complex parts, such as diaphragms and idle bypass valves, that can wear out or malfunction. HS6 SU carburettors also have more choices and availability of needles for fine tuning.

There is limited availability of parts for 1600 carbs, apart
from those listed above. It is possible to fit 2 litre Strombergs
to the 1600 which improves the options available.
