Triumph Stag Spin-on Oil Filter Conversion Kits
Converts the standard 'Bowl' type filter to the more efficient 'Spin-on' Cartridge type, making filter changing easier and cleaner. It is a more modern design and makes the whole operation of changing the filter far simpler than with the standard filter, which is a tricky, messy affair involving making sure various components are in the correct sequence inside the filter bowl and fiddling about getting it all lined up correctly on the housing with no leaks.

Suitable for Stags, TR7 and Dolomite Sprint/1850.

Filter cartridge, part no. RR1243, is not included with kits.

The spin-on oil filter conversion kit is expensive, no matter where you look, and somewhat necessary. The parts themselves are not that easy to install, mostly because it is a large cylindrical outer piece of aluminum with a smaller cylindrical center piece of aluminum with an O ring inside, held together by the flow-through bolt and the oil filter itself. Tighten the bolt a little too much during initial installation and the outer piece comes free of the inner piece and lands on the floor. I was hoping that this would be a simple, one piece, permanent solution on my 1980 TR7, but it will probably come apart and have to be reinstalled with every oil change. At least it’s not the leaky and messy old cartridge filter canister anymore! The design could be vastly improved, but there just isn’t enough demand for any manufacturer to bother improving it. Recommended if you prefer the benefits of a spin-on oil filter.

It works perfectly, I don't need anymore the paper filter and it takes one minute to change filter oil. I have a Triumph TR7 (1978 - Cabrio 2.0 L 5 speed) and it fits without any problems.
