When fitting tubular manifolds to a Stag with a Rover V8 engine, the alternator will require re-locating and a new mounting bracket will need to be sourced/fabricated.

For replacement of original MGB GT V8 cast iron manifolds or for Rover V8 transplants into 4 cylinder MGBs. Much improved gas flow over the cast iron originals but still somewhat compromised by the ‘Block Hugger’ pipework layout dictated by the small space available between the V8 engine and the bodywork through which the manifolds have to tortuously find their way.
The big selling points of the standard tubular manifolds are that they’re massively more reliable than cast iron manifolds and, unlike the MG RV8 manifolds also listed here, they require no bodywork modifications to fit.
They include a ‘Y’ piece and front part of the system intermediate pipe (ext. dia. 60mm), so will couple up to a standard mild or stainless system if the system downpipes and ‘Y’ piece are cut off.

The best-off-the-shelf answer if freeflowing exhaust gases matter above all else.
An adaptation of the original MG RV8 manifolds, lacking the originals’ catalytic converter couplings (Rimmer Bros stock the originals as well, if that’s what’s desired - see our Rover V8 Engine catalogue and web listings).
Good gas flow brought about by exiting the engine bay through the car’s inner wings rather than having to work around them.
Apertures must be cut through the inner wings and reinforcements welded in place (see reinforcements) - not acceptable to most original MGB GT V8 owners but less of a concern to those creating MGB V8 conversions.
As with the standard tubular manifolds, the RV8 type set includes a long ‘Y’ piece (ext. dia. 60mm), so will couple up to a standard mild or stainless system if the system downpipes and ‘Y’ piece are cut off.
