The Xenon timing light allows the dynamic ignition timing to be set. Includes inductive pick-up for simple connection. Capable of delivering up to 5000 flashes per minute. Suitable for any petrol engined vehicle with 12v ignition system including electronic types where applicable though some ignition systems are not externally adjustable. Indicates ignition timing and allows adjustment to manufacturer’s specification.

The inductive pickup clips directly on the ignition HT lead and is powered by the vehicles own 12v battery. The special Xenon bulb provides the ultrabrite flash needed to see engine timing marks, even under normal daylight or bright workshop conditions.

NARROW BELT CONVERSION

Fitting your 4 cylinder TR with a narrow fan belt is a case of choosing from the parts and kits listed here that are appropriate for your car.
There are several reasons why you should change from the original, wide belt to a narrow one.  One is that, of course you are always going to have more luck finding and buying a narrow belt (3/8" belts have been the standard for automotive use for many years) when you need one for servicing and repairs.  There's also the fact that being what the industry almost always specified, the narrow belt benefits from years of development to make it more efficient and reliable.
If you're feeling particularly protective towards your engine, the damped narrow belt option gives you the opportunity to protect the crankshaft by significantly reducing harmonic shock waves.  This does entail the elimination of the mechanical cooling fan and fan extension and the substitution of an electric cooling fan when the original crank pulley is replaced by the new damped pulley.
However, you do end up with a 'win-win' situation here because not only do you get a far better and more easily serviced fan belt on you car, but you also vastly improve the efficiency of the cooling system (the Achilles Heel of a 4 cylinder TR), too.  For electric fan conversions, see 'Cooling Systems'.
For owners who want a narrow belt system but don't want to go as far as losing their friendly old mechanical cooling fan, an undamped narrow belt system can be chosen instead.

This seal seems to be of much higher quality than the one I installed the last time I had the "nose"(front apron) off of my TR3 (in 2005).The outer ring is made of steel unlike the old one which was rubber /neoprene. The sealing lips had an inner and outer "lip", which to me seems more reliable. I had bought the old one from a major British parts supplier based in the US with outlets in the UK and Europe.

So far everything I have ordered for this Bilchchrome block (original) TR3 engine has fit perfectly !! Crank is already back in with the with perfect end play thanx to correct Thrust Washers and main bearings from Rimmer Bros !!
