From January 1996 onwards, the Rover 800 series entered its later stage with continued efforts to refine and position the car as a viable contender within the executive segment. The latter years of this model saw further enhancements aimed at improving overall quality and appeal in an increasingly competitive market. These refinements included subtle yet notable changes to exterior trim details, upgraded alloy wheel designs and improved interior fixtures that employed higher-grade materials for a more luxurious feel.
Under the bonnet, there was a streamlining of powertrain options focused on efficiency without sacrificing the expected performance of an executive saloon or coupe. Notably, Rover made advancements in improving ride comfort and handling by revising suspension components, resulting in a smoother driving experience suitable for cars in this prestigious category. As the British motor industry contracted, Rimmer Bros expanded to ensure the continued maintenance, restoration and enjoyment of many beloved classic cars no longer supported by their original makers. Our support, starting strongly with Triumph, extended to include Rover SD1 models in the 1990s, and later expanded to cover Land Rover and Range Rover models, reaching up to the present day. In 2005, our commitment grew to encompass more modern MG-Rover cars and by 2012 we further extended our range to include Jaguar models from 1996 onwards. This growth reflects our dedication to serving the diverse community of classic and modern British car enthusiasts.
We are proud to have British Motor Heritage Approval for our Triumph, MG, Mini and Rover SD1 parts operation.
