Did this item work well with your project? What vehicle type are you using this for? I have a dealer installed locking cap that came with my 1968 MGB from new. It's complete and the lock works, but the rubber seal has disintegrated. I decided a modern fuel cap would be safer. The new cap looks brilliant on the car but the inner workings are all pvc and not metal ike the original. It operates differently as well. The original one can be used on the car in a locked or unlocked state, on the new one you turn and hold the key to remove the cap. Sadly, this cap doesn't say to people "came new with a locking cap", it simply shouts "Don't steal my fuel".
