Triumph GT6 Cooling & Heating

The Triumph GT6 cooling system is driven by the 2.0-litre straight-six engine, and it needs to be in good shape. The GT6 runs a conventional front-mounted radiator, belt-driven water pump, and thermostat housing setup across all three marks produced from 1966 to 1973. Overheating is the most common complaint on neglected cars, and it's almost always a worn water pump, a failed thermostat, or a radiator that's had decades of scale build-up.

This section covers radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses, heater matrix components, fan assemblies and coolant additives. Evans waterless coolant is a popular upgrade on GT6s used for spirited driving, eliminating the corrosion and boiling risks associated with conventional antifreeze mixes.

For the systems that run hardest alongside the cooling circuit, see our Triumph GT6 Engine Components, Triumph GT6 Fuel System and Triumph GT6 Exhaust pages. Electric fan conversions link to our Triumph GT6 Electrical Parts.

Rimmer Bros has stocked GT6 parts from Lincoln, UK, since 1982. Call 01522 568000 for model-specific advice.

Don't let a cooling fault sideline your GT6. Find the right parts below, or ring our advisors for a guided diagnosis.
