Product Description
Triumph TR4 Sun Visors
Sun visors were offered as an optional extra on the TR4. They were a simple affair, being white and non-handed (i.e. the passenger’s side visor did not incorporate a mirror, unlike later TRs).
However, due to good availability of sunvisors for TRs generally, aside from the original style arrangement you could alternatively opt for a passenger’s mirror, or black visors, or a combination thereof.
The sun visor mountings listed are actually TR5/TR6 items; however they will fit TR4s so long as they are used as a complete installation.
The screw that attaches the mounting bar to the visor bracket, should be located and locked in place with a liquid thread lock compound such as ‘Loctite’. This is available as part number GAC100. The screw should be tightened sufficiently to allow the visor bar to pivot but not have excessive axial movement. The use of thread locking liquid or engineering adhesive is recommended to ensure the screws do not undo in service. If clearance problems with hex headed mounting bar screws are envisaged, the screw holes in the mounting bars may be countersunk and screws SF604041 substituted.
