Triumph TR5-250 Cylinder Head Gaskets - 6 Cylinder
If a friend does you a favour by giving you a head gasket for your car, don’t be ungrateful, but check its design first. Don’t try to fit a recessed bore-type head gasket to your TR5, TR250 unless you know your car has been equipped with a much later TR6 engine, for which a recessed bore head gasket is appropriate.
As a guide to identifying which head gasket set or head gasket that you need they are identifiable by the presence or the lack of presence of a tag. All later (TR6) head gaskets for recessed blocks included the tag on the rear of the gasket.
