Premium gasket, produced using high temperature silicone and designed to be re-usable.

This gasket fits the popular Aluminium Alloy valve cover available for the Triumph "Small" 4 cylinder engines (1147cc, 1296cc, 1493cc). This includes the Spitfire, Herald, MG Midget 1500, and other models.

This gasket has been patterned directly from an Alloy valve cover. The corner radius of the gasket will match exactly with the Alloy cover, unlike a stock gasket. The cross-section of this gasket is rectangular to suit the sealing surface of the Alloy valve cover.

This gasket fits the original pressed steel rocker cover used on all the Triumph "Small" 4 cylinder engines (1147cc, 1296cc, 1493cc). This includes the Spitfire, Herald, MG Midget 1500, and other models.

This gasket has been designed with a semi-circular cross section to better fit these valve covers. The flat side of the gasket mates to the cylinder head while the curved semi-circular side mates to the recess in the valve cover to eliminate leaks.

Alloy rocker covers are suitable for all standard 4 cylinder Triumph engines improving both the appearance and quietness of the engine. Use with AJM414T gasket(s) as required.

Late 1500 engines (Spitfire FM80001E onwards or MG Midget 1977 onwards) will also need to fit the longer, earlier studs (105123 x 2). These enable the chrome nuts to be used to replace the standard steel tube nuts.

If your engine has any of the following modifications or repairs you will need to check tappet screw to cover clearance prior to engine start up:
High Lift Cam Installed.
Heavily skimmed cylinder head or block.
Shimmed rocker shaft pedestals.

You can compensate for these modifications/repairs with multiple rocker cover gaskets AJM414T. Always check for adequate bonnet clearance once installed.

Triumph Spitfire Rocker Cover and Fittings
Special Note:- Mk3 Oil Filler Cap, Closed Circuit Engine Breather System

The original 2 piece oil filler cap (part no. 143393) which prevented a vacuum by allowing air into the engine is no longer available. As an alternative, GZC1400 can be used with the following modifications:-
Remove the rubber seal from the cap.
Alternatively, retain the seal (which prevents the cap from rattling) and drill a 1/16" hole in the cap, off centre to avoid the rivetted centre plate.

Used the silicone gasket on my 1300 spitfire engine, it has a good fit and is a much better seal than the flat cork one.
