Efficient Cooling
Maintaining the Stag cooling system in good condition is crucial in
ensuring proper efficient performance and prolonged engine life.
The radiator should be tested - professionally, and replaced if necessary.
Unless you are certain your hoses are in good condition we urge you to
replace each and every one, including the heater hoses.
The thermostat should be replaced as a matter of course, whilst the
correct strength anti freeze must be used.
And last but not least, we strongly recommend that you flush out the engine - thoroughly.
Air Locks
After installing a new radiator or, indeed, whenever you have cause
to drain the cooling system, you MUST ensure there are no air locks in
the system when running-up for the first time.
The heater must be 'full-on' (open) and all the hoses should be an even
temperature once the thermostat has opened.
If in doubt please consult a workshop manual.
