About Chris Wrigley
Chris Wrigley, Commercial Manager for Rimmer Bros has been a car enthusiast since the early 1990’s and got his first Triumph Spitfire in 1996, one of many classics that followed!
As with so many enthusiasts, he inherited an interest in cars from his father, who had also owned an MG and a Triumph back in the 60’s, when they were still a contemporary purchase. As a young driver, Chris was sold on the classic design lines and simple mechanicals of the Spitfire, making it an ideal project with sports car appeal. The family affair with cars stretches back even further. His grandfather owned a vehicle repairer on the Isle of Man and his great grandfather founded a vehicle transmissions factory in Birmingham, employing some notable names in the pioneering days of the industry, including Cecil Kimber (Founding father of MG) and Frank Woollard (pioneer of continuous flow production), supplying equally notable names such as William Morris and Aston Martin, so you might say that the car bug runs in the family!
Having been with Rimmer Bros for 23 years, Chris has worked in every area of the business and his enthusiasm and passion for cars has not waned. There’s nothing he likes better than attending a show, surrounded by like minded people who share in that passion for a British classic.
In more recent years, Chris has concentrated on the resurrection and remanufacture of critical components and their reintroduction into the market. Quality, fit and function have been a particular focus in the process, embodied in revived brands such as Stanpart.
“Keeping our great British cars on the road is both a responsibility and a privilege for parts specialists like Rimmer Bros, and I’m very proud of the service we provide to our valued customers, whose support we greatly appreciate. Our industry specialist team are an incredible group of people too and are equally enthusiastic about cars, with many having owned their fair share of classics over the years. Backed by the amazing support of our suppliers, I’m always on the look out for the next part for us to resurrect and contribute to the continued survival of these fantastic marques!”
