I have had a TH5 camshaft in my GT6 since 2000 and have done about 20,000 miles with it. It works well with a TSSC 'flowed' head, Stromberg 175s from a TR4, with 2AM needles, and 6-branch exhaust manifold. I kept the standard exhaust since it is less noisy than a straight through. This camshaft does exactly what it should: it gives excellent torque in the mid-range giving the car very good road performance from 2000-4500 rpm, where I do most of my driving. Idling is a bit lumpy, but not bad. There may be a bit more power, but it is the torque, mostly, which is improved. There is probably a slight improvement to 0-60 time. Petrol consumption good. To get the best from the TH5 I believe you will need to improve on the standard carbs at least.
