Product Description

Fuel Sender - 90560612P - Aftermarket
Note
The sender unit provided now only comes as a universal sender, covering four types of sender unit for the series vehicle.
Full instructions explain the different fitments.

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the R/H seat cushion and seat box cover. (Left and Right hand is viewed from the rear of the motor)

Disconnect the electrical connections and the six screws from the old sender unit.

Take note of the position of the old sender unit before removal.

Remove from tank (IMPORTANT) do not throw old sender unit away.

Note that the new sender comes in two pieces. This is because it covers the four different types of sender, which have different lengths of float.

Take the new sender and position the two rods together making sure the length and position of the new float matches the old unit. Then solder together. See Fig. 2.

Make a note which terminal is the fuel sender to the gauge. See Fig 3. (The green wire is attached to it)

Place the new unit in the tank making sure it’s in the same position as the old unit. Make sure the float is not fouling the internal baffle of the fuel tank.

Once the new sender is mounted, connect the following wires. See Fig 1.
Green/Black = Sender to gauge
White/Green = Low fuel warning (if fitted)
Earth = If the gauge reads full and the temperature gauge reads normal, the sender may need an additional earth which is connected to the new sender unit.

Run a wire from the sender terminal to the chassis.
Note - if none of the wires match the codes of the above, then these wires have been added in the past. If this is the case, these wires are not to the original spec so be sure to connect the correct terminals to the new sender.

Measure the length of the old float setting so the position of the new float can be set. Also make sure the plastic float is facing the same way as the old float

Reconnect the battery making sure everything is working. Then replace the seat box cover and the seat cushion.
